NeverBuyAgain — Privacy Policy
In short
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
- Your product memory stays on your phone. We have no server that receives it.
- Only when you scan a product your phone does not know yet, the app sends that barcode number to Open Food Facts to look up its name and picture.
- Anything else leaves your phone only when you choose to share it.
1. What the app stores on your phone
The products you add (name, brand, category, barcodes), your verdicts, star ratings, tags and notes, photos you take for a product, your “Rate Later” list, your settings, simple counters (for example how many warnings the app has shown you) and a technical error log. The error log contains error messages from the app — never your products, notes, names or photos.
This data lives in the app’s private storage on your phone. ZBoxy cannot see or access it.
2. What leaves your phone
2.1 Product lookups (Open Food Facts)
When you scan a barcode that is not yet on your phone, you are online and “Offline mode” is off, the app sends the barcode number to Open Food Facts, a free, open product database, to get the product’s name, brand, category and a small picture. The request also names the app and its version and gives our contact address, as Open Food Facts asks every app to do. It contains nothing about you: no notes, verdicts, photos or identifiers. Store-specific codes (for example in-store bakery labels) are never sent.
Like any website, Open Food Facts receives your internet (IP) address with the request. Their privacy policy applies to it. Product pictures are downloaded from Open Food Facts; with “Data saver” on, only over Wi-Fi.
2.2 Android backup
If backup is switched on in your Android settings, Android may include the app’s data (your products and your own photos, not the downloaded product cache) in your device backup to your Google account. This is done by Android under Google’s terms. You can switch it off in your phone’s settings.
2.3 Things you choose to share
- Export / Import and Export as spreadsheet (CSV) create a file only when you ask for it; you decide where it goes.
- Send feedback opens your email app with the app version filled in.
- Send diagnostic report first shows you the report, then opens the share sheet. It contains the app version, Android version, database version, the number of stored items and recent technical error messages — no products, notes, names or photos.
Nothing is ever sent automatically.
3. Permissions
- Camera — to scan barcodes and, if you want, to take a photo of a product. Camera images are processed on your phone; nothing is recorded or uploaded.
- Internet and network status — for product lookups, and to tell Wi-Fi from mobile data for “Data saver”.
The app does not ask for your location, contacts or files. Photos are chosen through Android’s own photo picker.
4. What we don’t do
No account or sign-up, no advertising, no analytics or tracking, no selling or sharing of data, and no third-party code that collects data about you.
5. Deleting your data
You can delete products in the app at any time. Uninstalling the app, or “Clear storage” in Android’s app settings, removes all of its data from your phone. Backups follow your Google account settings. If you emailed us, you can ask us to delete that email.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not collect personal data from anyone.
7. Changes
If we ever add optional features such as cloud sync, they will be opt-in and this policy will be updated before they are released. The effective date above always shows the latest version.

1. ما يحفظه التطبيق على هاتفك
المنتجات التي تضيفها (الاسم، العلامة التجارية، الفئة، الباركود)، وتقييماتك ونجومك ووسومك وملاحظاتك، والصور التي تلتقطها للمنتج، وقائمة «التقييم لاحقاً»، وإعداداتك، وعدّادات بسيطة (مثل عدد التحذيرات التي عرضها التطبيق)، وسجل أخطاء تقني. سجل الأخطاء يحتوي على رسائل أخطاء التطبيق فقط — وليس منتجاتك أو ملاحظاتك أو الأسماء أو الصور.
تُحفظ هذه البيانات في مساحة التخزين الخاصة بالتطبيق على هاتفك. لا تستطيع ZBoxy رؤيتها أو الوصول إليها.
2. ما يغادر هاتفك
2.1 البحث عن المنتجات (Open Food Facts)
عندما تمسح باركوداً غير موجود على هاتفك، وتكون متصلاً بالإنترنت و«وضع عدم الاتصال» مُطفأً، يرسل التطبيق رقم الباركود إلى Open Food Facts، وهي قاعدة بيانات مفتوحة ومجانية للمنتجات، للحصول على اسم المنتج وعلامته التجارية وفئته وصورة صغيرة له. يتضمن الطلب أيضاً اسم التطبيق وإصداره وعنوان التواصل معنا، كما تطلب Open Food Facts من كل تطبيق. ولا يحتوي على أي شيء عنك: لا ملاحظات ولا تقييمات ولا صور ولا معرّفات. الرموز الخاصة بالمتاجر (مثل ملصقات مخبز المتجر) لا تُرسل أبداً.
مثل أي موقع إلكتروني، تستلم Open Food Facts عنوان الإنترنت (IP) الخاص بك مع الطلب، وتنطبق عليه سياسة الخصوصية الخاصة بها. تُنزَّل صور المنتجات من Open Food Facts؛ وعند تفعيل «توفير البيانات» يتم ذلك عبر Wi-Fi فقط.
2.2 النسخ الاحتياطي في أندرويد
إذا كان النسخ الاحتياطي مفعّلاً في إعدادات أندرويد، فقد يضيف أندرويد بيانات التطبيق (منتجاتك وصورك الخاصة، دون ذاكرة المنتجات المنزَّلة) إلى النسخة الاحتياطية لجهازك في حساب Google الخاص بك. يتم ذلك بواسطة أندرويد وفق شروط Google، ويمكنك إيقافه من إعدادات هاتفك.
2.3 ما تختار مشاركته
- التصدير / الاستيراد والتصدير كجدول بيانات (CSV) تُنشئ ملفاً فقط عندما تطلب ذلك، وأنت تقرر أين يذهب.
- إرسال ملاحظات يفتح تطبيق البريد لديك مع رقم إصدار التطبيق.
- إرسال تقرير تشخيصي يعرض عليك التقرير أولاً، ثم يفتح قائمة المشاركة. يحتوي على إصدار التطبيق وإصدار أندرويد وإصدار قاعدة البيانات وعدد العناصر المحفوظة ورسائل الأخطاء التقنية الأخيرة — دون منتجات أو ملاحظات أو أسماء أو صور.
لا يُرسل أي شيء تلقائياً أبداً.
3. الأذونات
- الكاميرا — لمسح الباركود، ولالتقاط صورة للمنتج إن أردت. تُعالَج صور الكاميرا على هاتفك؛ لا يُسجَّل أو يُرفع أي شيء.
- الإنترنت وحالة الشبكة — للبحث عن المنتجات، وللتمييز بين Wi-Fi وبيانات الجوال من أجل «توفير البيانات».
لا يطلب التطبيق موقعك أو جهات اتصالك أو ملفاتك. تُختار الصور عبر أداة اختيار الصور الخاصة بأندرويد.
4. ما لا نفعله
لا حساب ولا تسجيل، لا إعلانات، لا تحليلات ولا تتبّع، لا بيع ولا مشاركة للبيانات، ولا أي شيفرة من طرف ثالث تجمع بيانات عنك.
5. حذف بياناتك
يمكنك حذف المنتجات داخل التطبيق في أي وقت. إلغاء تثبيت التطبيق، أو «مسح التخزين» من إعدادات التطبيق في أندرويد، يزيل جميع بياناته من هاتفك. تتبع النسخ الاحتياطية إعدادات حساب Google الخاص بك. إذا راسلتنا بالبريد، يمكنك أن تطلب منا حذف تلك الرسالة.
6. الأطفال
التطبيق غير موجّه للأطفال دون 13 عاماً. نحن لا نجمع بيانات شخصية من أي أحد.
7. التغييرات
إذا أضفنا يوماً ميزات اختيارية مثل المزامنة السحابية، فستكون بموافقتك فقط، وسنحدّث هذه السياسة قبل إطلاقها. يُظهر تاريخ السريان أعلاه دائماً أحدث نسخة.
